Firstly, Merry Christmas! My boyfriend and I are going to make the most of our Christmas, and ar going for a relaxing Christmas without any drama. The last couple of years we have had to deal with a lot of drama, so we are going for a quiet Christmas. We are going for good food and lots of Christmas movies, maybe play a game. And I am planning to bake Christmas cookies and make Yule bread.
We will finish this round of Christmas songs with a punk classic, from 2012. This is by far one of my favorite Christmas songs, each time I hear it puts a smile on my face. I have even put it in our ultimate Christmas playlist, which Martijn and I have made together.
Like Dolly Parton, this song is such a comical song and a lot of fun. In this song, we also see lots of humor, more sarcastically than Dolly, who is more a woman of subtle humor. What can I say, this is just a great song to get in the Christmas spirit. In style with the music, the Dropkick Murphys generally make, the folk-influence is very present.
I have had the pleasure to once again see the Dropkick Murphys live this year, at Jera On Air. A Dutch hardcore, metalcore, and punk festival in the south of the Netherlands. They were the closer on the Friday evening, I was in the front row, and it was wild. Never before was I smashed into the barriers as often as during this concert.
This Christmas Eve I give you the amazing Dropkick Murphys with The Season's Upon Us. I would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas, and a happy new year, if this is the last post I will write, before the new year. You will never know with me.
